How I Became OgHipHopEddie

Where the name OgHipHopEddie came from. The funny truth is, it started as an inside joke.​When I first got into the music scene, I didn't know every artist's name, album, or back catalog. I loved the music and knew a dope beat when I heard it, but my real lane was handling business—setting up meetings, making phone calls, organizing shows, and managing.​Back on Proof of Life Radio, the guys used to clown me and run hip-hop trivia live on air just to test me. I’d vibe to a track, and they’d ask, "Eddie, who is that?" and I’d have no clue. So they sarcastically crowned me "OG Hip Hop Eddie."​I owned it completely. Every show, I’d sign off: "OG Hip Hop Eddie, out!" The name stuck, the history remains, and I wouldn't change it for anything.
